Fire takes Harbaugh home in Gerlane in Barber County

From the Kiowa News - January 1956

The farm home of Mr. and Mrs. Jake Harbaugh of Gerlane  was burned to the ground last Saturday evening.

The Kiowa fire department was first notified that the Gerlaen schoolhouse was burning and the truck was sent to the scene. When the truck arrived at the scene of the fire, it was already out of control and there was little they could do. The fire department was called about 7 p.m.

Mr. and Mr.s Harbaugh were not at home at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire is unknown.
